GREEN GODDESS SMOOTHIE
Going green is the best way to get healthy. Blending a green smoothie is my morning ritual. Parsley, high in chlorophyll, builds the blood; apples cleanse the liver; bananas provide energy and improve stamina.
Parsley
love Parsley is neutral and sweet, highly nutritious, rich in beta-carotene, vitamin C, iron and folic acid. It also contains chlorophyll, which builds the blood. Parsley is a good remedy for edema, arthritis, halitosis and kidney stones.
Kale
Kale’s nutrition is par excellence; it contains more calcium than milk. Kale is packed with nutrients, and its high fiber content helps cleanse the intestinal tract. It is rich in iron, sulfur, potassium, vitamin C, folic acid, beta-carotene, chlorophyll and calcium.
Apples
Apples contain malic and tartaric acid which promote good digestion and cleanse the liver. Apples are rich in anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer phytonutrients such as flavonoids and polyphenols. They are also an excellent source of vitamin B, beta-carotene, vitamin C, and pectin, a soluble fibre that can help remove toxins from the body. Have at least an apple a day, preferably before noon on an empty stomach.
Banana
Banana is a favourite fruit of the sages. Banana is sweet and rich in potassium, vitamin C and pectin. It contains the anti-inflammatory enzyme bromelain, which increases the production of testosterone and provides energy and stamina.
Lemon Balm
Lemon balm reduces anxiety and nervousness, promotes good night sleep, improves symptoms of indigestion, it has antibacterial and antiviral properties.
You can sprinkle fresh leves on fruit salads, make a soothing tea, or use it in smoothies to add some spiciness.
