Hiya Gorgeous,

During the holidays is the hardest time for us to stick with healthy eating habits. We are invited to work and family parties where we get tempted with rich traditional treats, sweets and goodies.

But we don’t need to worry as long as we mentally accept and understand the importance of healthy eating habits. It is alright to indulge during the holiday season as long as you do not feel guilty afterwards. Enjoy every bite and you will experience a well-being of body and soul. And that is what counts. Here they are: 7 ways to prepare for a party during the holiday season!

Happy Holiday Season: 7 Ways to Prepare for a Party

Have some ginger tea before the party; it will help digest food better, and prevent bloating and flatulence.

Drink a protein shake during the day or at least two hours before you leave for the party.  You will not be as hungry, seeking unhealthy treats.

Take digestive enzymes with you just in case you mix different foods and make poor food choices.

You can bring your own special food and treats if possible; at least you know that they are without preservatives, additives and ingredients that you are allergic to.

Enjoy foods while at the party, but be selective.

Try not to mix a lot of different foods; your tummy will thank you.

For every glass of wine drink two glasses of water…you will prevent dehydration and a hangover.

HEALTHY NOTES

1. Probiotics are essential for intestinal health, especially if you suffer from stomach aches, cramps, and bloating. They will replenish good bacteria and facilitate elimination.

2. You can cleanse your body with freshly prepared juices and smoothies the next day after the party. Juices and smoothies made of dandelion, beets, apples and carrots. They are easy to digest, will detox your liver, and flush out alcohol. And if you think that your body requires more food, then try only easy digestible foods such as quinoa, millet, buckwheat, red lentil etc.

Check my deliciously tasty treats in my book. They are easy to prepare and you can enjoy them all year around. They contain no bleached white flour, traditional sweets or unhealthy fats.

Happy holidays
